4/8/24 Solar Eclipse

On April 8, a solar eclipse will be taking place in our surrounding area. This is an exciting event
and a wonderful learning opportunity. However, there is always some danger if a person were
to look directly into the eclipse for a long period of time without proper eyewear. To help
students view the eclipse and keep all safe, the district will be supplying solar eclipse glasses to
students on this day. Teachers will also be reviewing proper ways to view the eclipse. With
weather and cloud cover always being an uncertainty until the actual day, the district may also
alter outside times for students especially at our elementary levels. Again, the eclipse is an
exciting event, and we want everyone to enjoy it in a safe manner. If you have any additional
questions about the eclipse, please feel free to call your child’s school.
