Free Meal Program

We are pleased to announce that South Beloit School District has been approved for the Community Eligibility Provision for the Free Lunch Program offered by the USDA beginning with the 2015-2016 School Year. This program allows schools that predominantly serve low-income children to offer free, nutritious school meals to all students through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. This will be a great benefit to all the students in South Beloit.

 

However, for families to continue to qualify for registration fee waivers, there is a different form that must be filled out. Please look for the Household and Income Form in your registration packet when it arrives. That form must be submitted in order to qualify for fee waivers for next school year.

 

We are very excited about the ability to offer free lunch to all of our students in South Beloit. If you have any questions, please call your school office.

 

Additionally, Food Service will first access the Electronic Direct Certification system in order to determine households that do not need to receive household applications. By determining households that are eligible for free meals through the Electronic Direct Certification system, the District would only need to provide household application packets to those households not found in that system. This will cut down on the cost of printing, mailing and personnel time in processing applications for those that are already certified via the Electronic Direct Certification system.

 

Household Income Applications must be filled out at the South Beloit High School starting August 1-5 between the hours of 9a.m. to 11 a.m in the commons area by the School Kitchen. Beginning August 12th please fill them out between 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. daily.  You can also print the application listed below and mail it in or send it with your student.
